I’ve been thinking a lot about the connection between us, how despite our best efforts to be self-sufficient our lives remain contingent upon one another and the well-being of every living thing. I’ve especially been thinking about how this interconnectedness, this interdependence, stretches backward and forward in time—the human family past, present, and future. What wisdom would the ancients have for us in 2019? What would they say to our children’s children? And what do those children need from us right now, this very day?
Horizon
I’ve long appreciated the work editor Anthony Frame is doing with Glass: A Journal of Poetry, and am happy to have a poem in the February issue.
Read “Horizon.”
Best of the Net
The kind editors of The Boiler have nominated my poem “The Weight” for this year’s Best of the Net anthology. You can read my poem and the other nominees here.
