Rest in Peace, Mr. Wyeth (1917 – 2009)

by Cameron

One of my favorite visual artists passed on today at the age of 91–painter Andrew Wyeth. Following my previous post, a thank you to him is in order as well. Often I feel his work has the quality of a poem–subtle, concrete, hinting at meaning beyond first sight, suggestive of the mystery held within places and objects and people. Here are just a few examples of his painting, many of my favorites not to be found on the Internet.  The first, if I remember correctly, he thought was something of a self-portrait.
